MI vs GT, Brabourne Stadium. It is time for Mumbai Indians to test the bench strength, as there are no hopes for the playoffs. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans will be looking to confirm their place in the playoffs by defeating MI.
Hardik Pandya will be playing against his former team. If we follow a trend of players performing well against their previous teams, Hardik may play a big inning with the bat tonight. He knows how Rohit Sharma thinks, and he knows MI very well. Although, he might not bowl due to the risk of injuries.
Rohit Sharma's form has been a topic of talk in the cricket world for a while now. But it is not likely that the team management will drop him out of the team unless he drops himself. In that case, Pollard should be dropped too, and Suryakumar Yadav should lead the team. Dewald Brevis can open with Kishan, and Tim David can bat at 5 or 6.
Pradeep Sangwan should continue in the team as he has good matchups against MI. Rashid and Shami have dismissed almost all of the MI batters in the T20. So, it makes sense for MI to make a few changes in the squad and test the bench strength.
Since his comeback from one match break, Hardik Pandya hasn't performed well with the bat and stopped bowling altogether. Not so good for GT. The same goes for Shubman Gill, and he has played only two major innings so far, and David Miller has been a hit-or-miss batter so far. All this concludes that GT has a weak middle order than MI.
Suryakumar Yadav and Tim David, in the middle order, can neutralize the threat of Rashid Khan. Rashid has dismissed SKY only once, and Tim David has been comfortable playing against him. SKY is a good player of spin in general, and he won't be in trouble against Rashid Khan.
Hritik Shokeen becomes a very important bowler because there are three left-hand batters in the GT's top six positions.

Probable Playing 11:
Tymal Mills has been ruled out of the IPL 2022 due to an injury. There should be few changes in the playing 11 as MI has been already out of the playoffs race.
MI: I Kishan (WK), R Sharma (C), S Yadav, T Varma, T David, K Pollard/F Allen, D Sams, H Shokeen/M Markande, J Unadkat/A Tendulkar, J Bumrah, R Meredith
Sai Sudharsan had landed awkwardly in the last game and walked out of the field. It is likely for him to be replaced Abhinav Manohar or Vijay Shankar.
