Anthony Davis is the first Los Angeles Lakers player to make First Team All-Defense since Kobe Bryant did during the 2010-11 season.

During the 2019-20 regular season, AD averaged 1.5 steals, 2.3 blocks and 9.3 rebounds per game. The seven-time All-Star helped L.A. secure the fourth-best scoring defense, as Los Angeles' opponents only averaged 107.6 points a night.

The Lakers also had a defensive rating of 106.3, which was good for third in the league.

Anthony Davis and LeBron James are motivated to win the 2020 title for Kobe Bryant, who tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in January. Los Angeles has occasionally been wearing its “Black Mamba” jerseys in the 2020 playoffs. The Lakers wore the slick uniforms in Game 2 against the Houston Rockets.

The Lakers and Rockets are tied at 1-1 in the second round of their postseason series. Davis is averaging 29.7 points, 10.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in the postseason in seven games against the Portland Trail Blazers and Rockets. The Chicago native is shooting 58.9 percent from the field, 42.9 percent from beyond the arc and 71.2 percent from the free-throw line.

The last time the Lakers were this good was back in 2009-10. That's when Bryant and Pau Gasol led the Purple and Gold to the championship in seven games over the rival Boston Celtics.

Bryant won his second Finals MVP and cemented himself as one of the greatest Lakers of all time with his fifth title.
