Lakers superstar LeBron James sent out a congratulatory tweet to Suns guard Devin Booker after learning that he had been named a replacement on this season's All-Star Game.

James' message was brief, but to the point. The Lakers star welcomed him to the team and noted that the honor was well-deserved:

In a statement that was released earlier this week, the NBA revealed that Booker will make his first All-Star appearance as an injury replacement for Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard, who suffered a groin injury on Wednesday. The Lakers star would, in turn, need a new teammate.

Booker, now 23 years of age, is enjoying the best statistical season of his career. The former Kentucky Wildcat has made 52 appearances with the Suns (all starts), racking up averages of 26.4 points on 49.6 percent shooting from the field (35.8 percent from beyond the arc), 6.3 assists, 4.2 rebounds and just under one steal in 35.9 minutes per outing.

Many thought Booker's stats were good enough for him to be an All-Star outright, but he was left off of the original roster. It's also worth noting that Booker will not only replace Lillard as the Lakers superstar's new teammate, but also at this year's Three-Point Contest — an event that Booker won in 2018.

This season's All-Star festivities kick off on Friday, February 14, with the NBA All-Star Celebrity and Rising Stars Games. The 69th NBA All-Star Game will be played on Sunday, February 16. Tip-off is set for for 8:00 p.m. ET, with TNT having live broadcast coverage. For a full slate of this season's events, fans can head over this link from NBA.com. Nevertheless, the Lakers superstar seems glad to have a new teammate.
