Despite spending only two seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, Matt Barnes has shared his good wishes and intentions for the franchise.

On In The Zone with Chris Broussard, Barnes said that he wants LeBron James and Paul George or DeMarcus Cousins — who are free agents in the summer — to sign with the Lakers.

“I want LeBron to come to the Lakers next year, and I want Paul George or Boogie to come to the Lakers. I want to see the Lakers get back on top. I love what the Lakers are right now. To me, the only two people you don’t trade are Kuzma and Ball, and Ingram is right there. This is all due respect to the whole team. This is just me talking trash. I want to see LeBron come here and finish up. Paul come home or Boogie come here, and put them back on top.”

Kobe Bryant's retirement a few years ago freed a lot of cap room for the Lakers. They immediately went into rebuilding mode and drafted several young guns in hopes of developing them into superstars.

Right now, they are loaded with young players with infinite potential. The likes of Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, and Julius Randle all have the talent that can possibly orchestrate another Lakers title run.

However, critics believe that they need a proven superstar to bolster their hopes. Signing all the players that Barnes mention seems impossible. George and Cousins seem happy with their team right now. That only leaves LeBron James, arguably the best player in the league today, who could be leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers this summer if they don't win that ring.
