We know New Orleans Pelicans big man DeMarcus Cousins has a penchant for throwing tantrums on the court, but certainly not for throwing footballs.

Yet somehow, a newspaper failed to differentiate Boogie from another famous Cousins, Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins. The Redskins signal-caller’s eyes caught a glaring mistake made by a particular newspaper that mistook him for the mercurial Pelicans center.

The paper was reporting an incident during Monday’s 114-107 win by the Pelicans over the Oklahoma City Thunder in which Cousins was tossed from the game due to a flagrant foul. However, it might not be as flagrant as the said journalistic faux pas.

Mistakes happen all the time. But this one is just funnier than most. Not only are DeMarcus and Kirk playing in two very different sports, they also do not resemble each other physically.

Just to be clear, the Redskins aren’t going to have DeMarcus Cousins under center for any of its future games. Conversely, Kirk Cousins isn’t going to replace Pelicans point guard Rajon Rondo as New Orleans’ starting point guard.

It’s a good thing Kirk was able to laugh this one off even though he probably didn’t like that.
