The Phoenix Suns are absolutely rolling right now after a 25-point win over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday to take a 2-0 stranglehold in the Western Conference semifinals. Chris Paul is looking very close to 100% after a tremendous showing in Game 2, dropping 17 points and dishing out 15 assists.

However, he made it very clear post-game on Wednesday who the true MVP has been for the Suns thus far. Not Devin Booker, but big man Deandre Ayton.

“He runs, he rebounds, he does everything. He’s literally been the MVP of our postseason so far.”

CP3 isn't wrong. While Book has been a walking bucket in the playoffs, Ayton's dominance in the paint has been huge for Monty Williams' team. The former Arizona standout is posting averages of 16.3 points and 10.5 rebounds per night while doing a very good job of containing MVP Nikola Jokic. The Joker has been limited to under 25 points in the first two contests of this series, much in part to Ayton playing lockdown defense.

While the Suns have done a great job of double-teaming Jokic when possible without actually fouling him, their big man has made the ultimate difference. The Phoenix shooters have also been thriving but being able to find Ayton in the paint for easy points at the cup has been a huge plus.

Deandre Ayton is doing it all in his very first postseason and Chris Paul knows just how important he'll be to the Suns making a run to the NBA Finals.
