Anthony Edwards kept it going on Thursday night with another huge performance as the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the San Antonio Spurs, 127-121. Edwards dropped a career-high 49 points en route to joining the likes of LeBron James and Kevin Durant in the scoring record books.

After his explosion against the Spurs, Edwards now has the fourth most career points for any player before turning 21 years of age (h/t StatMuse on Twitter):

Edwards now has 2,917 points in his career and he just surpassed Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker for the No. 4 spot on the list. It is worth noting that Edwards has now scored more points than both Luka Doncic and Kobe Bryant at this point in their respective careers.

The clincher here is that Edwards doesn't turn 21 until August of this year. Depending on how far the Timberwolves extend their postseason, Edwards could have a shot at taking the No. 3 spot from Carmelo Anthony, who currently has a 366-point lead over the Timberwolves youngster. It may be a bit improbable, but it definitely isn't impossible, especially with Edwards playing like this.

That's not the only record Ant set on Thursday night. He is now ranked second for the most 40-point games for a player before age 21:

There's no denying that the sky's the limit for this kid.
