The Los Angeles Dodgers dealt with new setbacks on Monday. Kyle Tucker left early against the Minnesota Twins during the second inning. But then Dalton Rushing followed him with his own injury.

Tucker had left with reported back spasms. Rushing's ailment is more severe, though, per the franchise.

“Dalton Rushing left the game to rule out a concussion,” the Dodgers posted on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.

Rushing absorbed this hit in the mask off a foul tip during the bottom of the first inning.

Manager Dave Roberts quickly turned to Chuckie Robinson to replace Rushing behind home plate. But Rushing will likely head into concussion protocol.

Rushing is emerging as a favorite among Dodgers fans. Even amid his antics, including arguing with umpires, the Dodger doesn't want to be viewed in a villainous light.

The catcher only swung the bat once against Minnesota before taking the exit. He's currently on a three-game hitless streak. Rushing last pounded the ball against the Baltimore Orioles on June 19, but took three strikeouts at home plate. That one hit drove a teammate home in that 6-5 LA victory inside Chavez Ravine.

The Dodgers are 49-29 overall as of Monday evening. Los Angeles was tied up at 1-1 through the first five innings in the Twin Cities. Shohei Ohtani smacked a solo home run for the defending World Series champs' lone run of the game so far. But now, LA must operate without Tucker and Rushing.
