USC and Bronny James update

Bronny James, the son of LeBron James, now has three collegiate games under his belt. The younger James missed the early portion of the season with a cardiac arrest scare, but James is back to playing now. James was one of the most well-known prep players of all time, and his presence on USC's roster makes the Trojans one of the most exciting teams in college basketball.

It took three games until James finally secured a win. USC lost to Long Beach State and Auburn before securing a win over Alabama State. Those games are easy compared to what is to come in Pac-12 action, as the intensity always picks up in conference play. James and his team haven't been great since his debut.

James is only averaging five points and one assist per game. However, the Trojans did have one of their best games as a team against Alabama State, as they won 79-59. Although Alabama State may not be the stiffest of competition, the dominant win may be enough to give USC some momentum going forward.

Additionally, although James has not put up gaudy numbers, he has shown flashes. His minutes have been limited, and he is sure to put up bigger scoring displays going forward. Big scoring games have never been James' forte, anyways. James is a tough and athletic player who thrives on defense and hits open jump shots on offense. James has already shown off those traits.

Bronny James isn't the only player that makes USC basketball exciting, though. Isaiah Collier is the projected number-one overall draft choice. The guard is averaging 16.1 points and 4.3 assists per game, thanks to his advanced ability to get to the rim and collapse the defense.

Boogie Ellis is the team's best player. Ellis is in his fifth year of college basketball and is averaging 19.5 points per game. Ellis can score from anywhere on the court, as evidenced by his 44.2% shooting clip from three-point range on 7.7 attempts per game.

USC is currently 6-5, so they desperately need a win. Both Oregon and Oregon State are 8-3, so righting the ship won't be super easy this week.
