As the Dallas Stars continue to engage Jason Robertson in contract talks, there have been many discussions about where this will go. Now, there are concerns within the organization that this will end badly and that he will receive an offer sheet from another team, according to JayOnSC.

JayOnS spoke with Pierre LeBrun, who said the Stars are concerned about other teams trying to take advantage of the situation. Apparently, the Stars plan to extend Robertson and make other moves. Other teams like the New Jersey Devils reportedly have interest in Robertson, making this process more challenging.
The other things that complicate the situation are the Stars' cap space. So far, they have just over $9 million available. Robertson is one of three UFAs and four RFAs that they either need to sign or replace. There have also been rumors of a trade with the Ottawa Senators that materialized after they shipped off Brady Tkachuk.
The Stars fell to the Minnesota Wild in the First Round, which signaled a disappointing end to a good season. As a result, there is greater pressure on the team to overcome its playoff struggles. To do that, they need Robertson back, or someone who can match his skill set.
Robertson has been linked to many teams over the last season. While there is heavy interest, the Stars still own the rights to him, unless another team can offer sheet him. For now, the negotiations are ongoing. The Stars will need to find a solution quickly, or they might see their contention window start to shut, especially in the tough Western Conference.
