Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns made history on Wednesday night, joining Kevin Garnett as only the second player ever to score 10,000 points for the franchise.

After his big 32-point game, KAT spoke on the matter and explained why it was such a special moment to him. Via Dane Moore:

He does have a valid point. Playing for an organization like the Timberwolves doesn't exactly bring a lot of praise and hype, but Towns has truly been a consistent star in the NBA for many years now. After all, he's averaging 23 points and 11.3 rebounds per game in his career on 39% shooting from three-point territory. Those are Hall of Fame numbers.

Sitting alongside a player like Garnett is also a huge deal, who is arguably the great Timberwolves player ever. But, Towns truly does deserve to get recognized for this accomplishment. Reaching 10,000 points in under seven seasons is impressive in itself and speaks to the talent he has.

Minnesota cruised to a big 124-107 win over Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, with Anthony Edwards also dropping a 38-piece. While the Timberwolves are currently at 13-15, they've pulled off some eye-catching victories this season and could be a potential play-in contender with a superstar duo of Towns and Edwards leading the way.
