This match will be the toughest test for Lucknow Super Giants, and this game will define the tone of LSG's game. Lucknow has a relatively less experienced bowling department than CSK, and both teams have a good pack of batters and have good batting depth. But LSG suffers a lack of finisher batter in their squad, which was the issue for KL Rahul in PBKS too.

A miracle can save LSG's batting from the CSK's bowlers. Only KL Rahul has an average above 30 while playing against CSK. Only KL Rahul, M Pandey, and Q de Kock have hit a half-century vs CSK from the current squad. But LSG's batting strength can not be ignored because the batters have all the capabilities to score big. The second critical issue for LSG is the inexperienced bowling unit. None of the LSG bowlers have impressive record against CSK. In such concerns, only a team effort can win this game for LSG.

CSK's openers didn't do well in the opening game. Now that Moeen Ali is back, he should open with Gaikwad and Conway at number 3. This makes more sense, and Ali can pressure the LSG's bowling. CSK does not need to worry about the middle order. Because they got plenty of quality batters who can play the finisher's role when required. One weak point in CSK's bowling is Adam Milne. He has excellent T20 records, but he is yet to impress in the IPL. Chris Jordan is likely to replace him.
