As per reports in several Indian media outlets, Deepak and Jaya got married in an intimate ceremony in the City of the Taj Mahal, Agra with close friends and relatives in attendance.

The venue of the wedding was the luxurious Jaypee Palace hotel, where the couple took their marriage vows in a sacred ceremony.

In one of the snapshots posted on the popular photo-sharing app, Deepak could be seen garlanding his fiance Jaya.

“When I met you the first time, I felt that you are the one and I was right. We have enjoyed every moment of our life together and I promise to keep you always happy like this. One of the best moments of my life. Everyone pls give your blessings to us,” Deepak wrote in his caption while announcing his marriage with Jaya.

Immediately after his wedding announcement, Deepak Chahar began trending on Twitter with fans congratulating the star pacer for his second innings in life.

“Guys I am heartbroken after Deepak Chahar's wedding. So pls don't dm me to react on their pics, I just can't look at them,” a fan tweeted.

On the other hand, another cricket fan took a dig at Deepak Chahar's national team vice-captain KL Rahul claiming that the opening batter had missed his wedding to attend some other function.

“KL Rahul went to attend someone else's wedding ignoring Deepak Chahar,” a cricket fanatic claimed.

Deepak Chahar proposed to Jaya Bhardwaj in the most romantic fashion possible, in the stands during IPL's last season. The entire episode was caught on camera, and later Chahar himself shared the video of his proposal on social media.

In the footage, Chahar is seen making his way to the corporate box where his then-girlfriend Jaya was sitting before going to propose to her in full public view.

Chahar, however, isn't the first cricketer to get hitched in recent times. In December 2020, former Royal Challengers Bangalore and India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal tied the knot with YouTuber Dhanashree Verma in Gurugram, a suburb of New Delhi, the national capital.

The same year, Hardik Pandya also joined the bandwagon as he got hitched to Serbian model, actress, and dancer Natasa Stankovic after announcing their engagement on Instagram a couple of months ago. Hardik and Natasa are now parents to a son named Agastya.

Natasa has been credited with Hardik Pandya's rebirth as a cricketer as the flamboyant all-rounder recently powered the newly formed IPL franchise Gujarat Titans to the title in the elite T20 competition on debut. Hardik himself has acknowledged his wife's role in calming him down and making him a better man in life.

Hardik Pandya's leadership received praise from various quarters in IPL 2022, with Sunil Gavaskar, Brett Lee, Michael Vaughan, Mohammad Kaif, and Matthew Hayden all hailing him for getting the best out of his players, especially when the Gujarat Titans had their backs to the wall.

He has even been tipped to become the national team's captain soon with Gavaskar and Vaughan declaring that his cool head would always keep him calm under pressure and that's why he could lead the Men in Blue in the years to come.

Earlier this month, ex-India cricketer and coach Arun Lal, coach of the Bengal cricket team got married for the second time. At 66, Lal wed his long-time girlfriend Bulbul Saha in Kolkata on May 2. According to several reports, Lal took consent from his wife before saying yes to the marriage.

Lal and his first wife Reena had parted ways long back but he still lives with her because she suffers from a serious illness.

Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar missed the 2022 edition of the IPL because of a back injury. Earlier during the tournament's mega auction, CSK reacquired his services for a whopping amount of $1.8 million (140 million INR).

So far during his IPL career, Chahar has picked up 59 wickets in 63 matches at an impressive average of just over 29. Yet it was 2019 which changed his fortunes as he took 22 wickets in 17 games for MS Dhoni's side.

Two years later, his 14 wickets proved instrumental as a dominant CSK raced through to their fourth IPL title.

Talking about his record for Team India, Chahar has made his presence felt with his all-round performances.

While he has taken 10 wickets in 7 ODIs, he has 26 wickets to his name in 20 T20Is games for India. His contributions with the bat have been significant as well as he has smashed two half-centuries in 50-overs cricket with an innings of 54 coming against South Africa in January this year.
