Kyrie Irving of the Boston Celtics sent an apology over his Thanksgiving comments made following the Celtics loss the New York Knicks.
Via Twitter, Irving admitted that he spoke with frustration after their 109-117 loss on Wednesday night. He added that as a professional, he shouldn't have uttered those words.

It was a frustrating loss for the Celtics. They are now 9-9 early on and have lost three straight. This is an unexpected start from a team that went all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals despite being shorthanded. Now, the Celtics are complete and healthy. On top of having Gordon Hayward back, they have a new and improved Jayson Tatum. Despite this, the Celtics seem to can't find the rhythm.
Per Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston, Irving said that the Celtics cannot afford to wait for the game to develop. For the 26-year-old, they need to step it up at the game's beginning:
“I think that, at this point, it’s just tiring. Like I said, there’s no more time to wait. It’s not that I’m pushing the panic button or anything like that, I just think that there’s no more time to wait for games to start off and then go down in a hole where even our home crowd has been antsy and guys are pressing and stuff like that. It’s a long game but I think there are some controllable things in the beginning of the game that we can fix.”
