According to Ken Goldin, this spectacular Jay-Z card is the highest ever price sold of a non-sport/TCG card, ending at a hefty $105,780 price tag in bidding.

Most famous for his rapping and producing, it's pretty interesting to see Jay-z's emergence in the card community in general. The hobby as a whole is starting to expand beyond just sports and card games, venturing into new fields in pop culture. As a cultural figure himself, Jay-Z certainly reigns as one of the most influential and successful artists in the industry, comparable to the likes of Kanye West and Eminem.

It's also no surprise that this grail card passed through Goldin Auctions, one of the best auction sites in the card world today. They're known for consigning some of the biggest hitters to ever reach the market, from 1/1 Lebron's all the way to a $370,000 Pokemon Charizard card. They always find a way in creating the biggest buzz and attention for their clientele, whether inside or outside the whole card realm.

This Jay-Z card that sold is a prime example that the card industry isn't slowing down. On the contrary, its reach is continuously expanding as it makes itself more present in the mainstream.
