The Cricket world hoped that Jofra Archer would come back to cricket after a long break, but the English pacer stress fractured his lower back. Hence, Archer's injury saga continues. He will be missing the upcoming English summer season.

Archer last played a List-A match against Oxfordshire on July 20, 2021. He bowled only six overs in that game with no wickets. His last international match was a T20I against India at Ahmedabad on March 20, 2021. He has been absent from the cricket world ever since.

First, he injured his elbow early last year and went under surgery. He was in rehab after the first surgery and got another elbow injury.

He missed the Ashes tour of Australia and the entire IPL season. Fans are not happy about Archer's current state with injury. His place for the T20 World Cup later this year is also doubtful.

Fans on Twitter are making jokes about Jofra Archer:

However, some fans are genuinely concerned about where his cricketing career is taking him.

The ECB stated, “No timeframe has been set for his return. A management plan will be determined following further specialist opinion over the coming days,”

Jofra Archer is the third English pace bowler ruled out of summer due to injury. Saqib Mahmood and Matthew Fisher were announced injured very recently.

Jofra Archer has undergone three different surgeries in the last 14 months. Two on his elbow and one to remove a shard of glass from his hand.

Archer admitted that he had feared for his career at some time. Injuries like this will only take a heavy toll on his mental health. This also raises the question of whether his body can sustain the fitness level required for the First-Class cricket or not.
