The Kansas City Chiefs have been in the NFL since 1963. Even though there have been plenty of teams around longer, the Chiefs have some of the most fierce rivals in NFL history. Let's take a look at the five biggest rivals of the Chiefs.

5. Green Bay Packers

Some might argue that the Green Bay Packers don't belong the list, but this one all comes down to the history of their first game. The Packers and Chiefs first met up on January 15th, 1967 in the first Super Bowl. The Packers got the best of the Chiefs, winning 35-10. After that Super Bowl loss, the Chiefs did start to dominate the series, winning six of seven games. The Chiefs lead the all-time series 7-5-1.

4. Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts and Chiefs regular-season games haven't had a lot of fireworks, but every time they face off in the playoffs there seems to be some. The Colts and Chiefs have faced off five games in the playoffs with Indianapolis coming out ahead in four of those showdowns.

The last meeting between the two teams was in 2018 when the Chiefs came out ahead 31-13. The Colts lead the all-time series 16-10.

3. Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills aren't much of a rivalry anymore, but back in the 1960s and 1990s this was one of the biggest rivalries in all of football. From 1963-1969 these teams faced off at least twice every year with most battles being ultra heated. From 1991-1997 the two teams faced off seven times, with no love lost between the squads each time they faced off.

The last time the two teams faced off was in 2017 when the Bills came away with a 16-10 win. Overall the Bills lead the all-time series 26-21-1 but the Chiefs have won three of the last four games played between the two teams.

2. Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs rivalry dates back all the way to the AFL days. These are two teams who don't like each other and physical play is always included. One of the more memorable games between the two teams happened on October 17th, 1994. It was a back and forth game until Joe Montana threw a five-yard touchdown pass to Willie Davis with eight seconds left in the game to seal it. This win snapped an 11 game losing streak for the Chiefs at Mile High stadium.

The Chiefs lead the all-time series against the Broncos 65-55. In the postseason the Broncos have won their one and only matchup. The largest victory ever between the two squads happened all the way back in 1963 with the Chiefs winning 59-7. The Chiefs also won 11 games straight over the Broncos from 1964-69.

1. Oakland Raiders

One of the most fierce rivalries in NFL history is between the Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs. There is no other way to put it then that these two teams hate each other, and every time the two teams step on the field, there is always a chance a full-blown brawl is going to break out. In 1970 these two teams played to a tie, but that's what really started the rivalry. Ben David dove into Len Dawson's leg which caused another player to attack David. Benches cleared and the rivalry was officially started.

The two squads have faced off 120 times with the Raiders leading the all-time series 65-54-2. One of the more impressive victories in the series was back in 1967 when the Raiders came away with a 51-0 victory. From 1965-1971 the Raiders won 14 games in a row.

The Raiders might have moved to Las Vegas, but that doesn't change anything about this rivalry, it's still going to be fierce.
