Giannis Antetokounmpo’s brother shows off epic Greek Freak rookie card pull
Every dedicated card collector dreams of pulling the big one whenever a pack or box is opened. It’s that card that eclipses everything you have when it comes to value and rarity. For Thanasis Antetokounmpo, it’s something quite different and more special than the other cards in his collection. It’s the highly sought-after rookie card of his brother, Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
In a Tiktok video posted by the younger Antetokounmpo, a collection of cards from the 2013-14 Panini Prizm set is laid out on a table. At one point, rookie cards of Victor Oladipo and Kelly Olynyk were briefly glimpsed. Towards the end, Thanasis proudly displays his older brother’s Prizm Bucks rookie card, which features the two-time NBA MVP front and center.
As of the moment, raw copies of Antetokounmpo’s base Prizm rookie card are ranging from $500 to $1,000. Meanwhile, a PSA 10 copy of the Greek Freak’s definitive rookie offering sold recently for $3,800. The highest recorded sale of this particular slabbed card notched $30,433 after 55 bids in an eBay auction.
For sure, Thanasis Antetokounmpo will hold onto this card for as long as he can. Not only because his brother is one of the NBA’s best players, but because Giannis Antetokounmpo rookie cards of this caliber are hard to come by and can only grow more valuable in time. It won’t be long before the younger Antetokounmpo this happens, especially if the Bucks make a deep run this postseason.
