The Hollywood Walk of Fame website just announced the class of 2025.

These celebrities come from the world of movies, television, music, live theater/performance, radio, and sports. They were selected to receive the iconic stars by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Walk of Fame Selection Panel.

The actors, musicians, hosts and athletes were chosen from hundreds of nominations held June 14 and ratified by the chamber’s board of directors on the same day. The honorees’ names were announced by Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president Steven Nissen and Walk of Famers Niecy Nash, Joe Mantegna and Jimmy Jam during a live press conference Monday, June 24.

Chairman Per Roth said, “The Walk of Fame has made history again! As chairman of the Walk of Fame Selection Committee, I am thrilled to announce the distinguished honorees who will grace the iconic Walk of Fame in the Class of 2025. Each honoree truly embodies the essence of excellence in their respective fields.”

“The committee and I cannot wait to see our honorees becoming part of this world-famous walkway!” he added.

Jessica Chastain, Target

John Carpenter

John Carpenter is best known for his horror, action and sci-films in the 1970s and 1980s. He is often called the master of the horror genre. In 2019, the French Directors’ Guild gave him the Golden Coach Award at the Cannes Film Festival.

He’s best known for the Halloween franchise, as well as the cult classics such as 1981’s Escape from New York, 1984’s Starman, 1986’s Big Trouble in Little China and 1996’s Escape from L.A. He returns to the Halloween universe with the upcoming film Halloween: Comes Around.

Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain was nominated three times for an Academy Award, and won in 2022 for Best Actress for The Eyes of Tammy Faye. She also won a SAG Award for the same role and project. She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for the same role in a different project, George & Tammy, winning a SAG Award for The actress also won a Golden Globe in 2013 for

Her notable film credits include 2017’s Molly’s Game, 2014’s A Most Violent Year and 2011’s The Help. She also starred in the 2021 HBO miniseries Scenes from a Marriage with Oscar Isaac, 2019’s It Chapter Two and X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Chastain most recently starred opposite fellow Oscar winner Anne Hathaway in Mothers’ Instinct. She will next star in the action sci-fi thriller The Division with Jake Gyllenhaal.

Bill Duke

Bill Duke is known for his physically imposing stature and primarily works in action and drama films. He’s best known for starring opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1985’s Commando and 197’s Predator. He has also appeared in X-Men: The Last Stand. On TV, he played Agent Percy Odell in Black Lightnightning.

Robert Englund

Robert Englund is best known for playing the supernatural serial killer Freddy Kruger in Wes Craven’s Nightmare on Elm Street film series. There are currently nine films; the first in 1984 and the latest in 2010, which was a remake of the first film. A reboot is currently in development. Englund’s breakthrough role was as the resistance fighter Willie in the 1983 miniseries, V.

Emilio Estevez

Emilio Estevez was part of the Brat Pack of the 1980s and starred in many hit coming-of-age movies such as 1983’s The Outsiders, 1985’s The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo’s Fire. In 1984, he branched out to sci-fi and comedy in 1984’s Repo Man. He was also part of three film franchises such as 1987’s Stakeout and its sequel 1993’s Another Stakeout, 1988’s Young Guns and its 1990 sequel Young Guns 2, and The Mighty Ducks series beginning with the first film in 1992, 1994’s D2 and 1996’s D3.

He also reprised his role as coach Gordon Bombay in the Disney+ series The Mighty Ducks:Game Changers. He’ll next be seen reprising another iconic role in the upcoming third installment of Young Guns, Guns 3: Dead or Alive. He’ll be joined Lou Diamond Phillips and Christian Slater.

Colin Farrell

Irish actor Colin Farrell was nominated in 2022 for an Academy Award for Best Actor in The Banshees of Inisherin. In the same year, he won a Golden Globe Award for the same role and project. He won his first Golden Globe Award in 2009 for

His Hollywood breakthrough was in Steven Spielberg’s 2002 film Minority Report, starring Tom Cruise. He followed up by playing Bull’s Eye in 2003’s Daredevil and the critically panned 2004 Olvier Stone film Alexander.

His notable film credits include Yorgos Lanthimos’ 2015 film The Lobster and the most recent 2022 The Batman as The Penguin. He will reprise that role in the upcoming HBO series The Penguin, which will be released on Sept. 8. Farrell recently starred in the Apple TV+ series Sugar.

Jane Fonda

Jane Fonda won two Academy Awards, winning best actress in 1972 for Klute and another in 1979 for Coming Home, for which she also won a Golden Globe Award. In 2021, she was honored with the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award. The long-time activist has also won a Primetime Emmy, an AFI Lifetime Achievement Award and the Honorary Palme d’Or. She was most recently seen in Jennifer Lopez’s This Is Me… Now on Prime Video as Sagittarius and 2023’s 80 for Brady.

Nia Long

Nia Long is best known for her work in 1991’s Boyz n the Hood and as Beullah “Lisa” Wilkes on NBC’s The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air from 1991 to 1995. She also appeared in 1995’s Friday and 1997’s Love Jones and Soul Food.

Long was most recently seen in last year’s Netflix film You People with Eddie Murphy. She’ll next be seen playing the Jackson matriarch, Katherine, in the biopic Michael.

Lisa Lu

Lisa Lu is a Chinese-American actress who you’ll recognize as Amah in Jon M. Chu’s film adaptation of Crazy Rich Asians. She also appeared in Hulu’s Death and Other Details. Lu will next be seen in the 2024 Chinese film adaptation of The Dream of the Red Chamber, which will be released on July 26. She’s the only person who’s a member of both the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Glynn Turman

Glynn Turman is best known for playing Baltimore mayor Clarence Royce in the acclaimed HBO series The Wire. He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his role in another HBO series In Treatment. He was most recently in Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians as Mr. Brunner/Chiron. The actor will next be seen in Kevin Costner’s Horizon – An American Saga Chapter 2.

Toni Vaz

Toni Vaz is largely credited as Hollywood’s first black stuntwoman. She is the founder and creator of the NAACP Image Awards.

Currently the national president of the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), Fran Drescher is most famous for her role as Fran Fine in the sitcom she created and produced with her then-husband Peter Marc Jacobson, The Nanny.

Lauren Graham

Lauren Graham is best known as the fast-talking Lorelai Gilmore in The WB/CW series Gilmore Girls from 2000 to 2007. She was nominated for several awards from the Screen Actors Guild and the Golden Globe for her role. She also played Sarah Braverman on NBC’s Parenthood from 2010 to 2015.

Bill Nye

Best known as Bill Nye the Science Guy, he’s a science communicator, television presenter and former mechanical engineer. He hosted the television show Bill Nye the Science Guy from 1993 to 1999.

Molly Shannon

Molly Shannon was most recently in HBO’s The White Lotus in 2021. She’ll join Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building in a recurring role. Shannon is best known as Mary Katherine Gallagher, a character she created for Saturday Night Live, where she was a cast member from 1995 to 2001. In 1999, she took Mary Katherine to the movies in Superstar.

Sherri Shepherd

The actress, comedian, author, podcaster and television presenter currently hosts the talk show, Sherri. From 2007 to 2014, she co-hosted The View, for which she won an Emmy in 2009.

Courtney B. Vance

Courtney B. Vance won a Tony Award in 2013 for best featured actor in a play for Lucky Guy. Three years later, he earned an Emmy for outstanding lead actor in a limited series or movie in The People v O.J. Simpson. In 2021, he received a second Emmy for outstanding guest actor in a drama series for HBO’s Lovecraft Country. He’s married to Academy Award-nominated actress Angela Bassett.

Chris Wallace

Chris Wallace won the first news and documentary Emmy Award in Fox’s history in 2018 for outstanding live interview, where he spoke with Russian president Vladimir Putin. He received his first Emmy for the NBC news documentary The Migrant. The Peabody Award winner currently hosts Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace on CNN. He’s also an anchor for the network.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone

The duo Trey Park and Matt Stone are best known as the creators of the multi-award winning animated show South Park. They also created The Book of Mormon. Parker and Stone were nominated for an Academy Award in 2000 for Best Original Song for South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut’s Blame Canada.

South Park has received five Emmy Awards for best animated program. The show also won a Peabody Award in 2006.

In 2011, The Book of Mormon won four Tonys for best musical, best direction, best book and best original score. The musical won a Grammy in 2012 for best musical theater album. In 2014, the play won a Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical.

Fantasia

Fantasia Barrino won season three of American Idol. She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for 2023’s The Color Purple for best performance by a female actor in a  motion picture, musical or comedy and a BAFTA nomination for the same category.

Depeche Mode

Depeche Mode, best known for the songs Somebody and Just Can’t Get Enough, are an English band formed in the 1980. The original lineup consisted of Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, Andy Fletcher and Vince Clarke. Currently, only Gahan and Gore are in the band. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.

Los Bukis

The Mexican grupero band was formed in 1973 and received three Grammy nominations, twice for best Mexican-American Performance in 1982 and 1988, and best Latin Pop Album in 1991. In 2022, they headlined the Latin Grammy Awards with Rosalía and Carlos Vives.

The B-52s

The new wave band, who dropped the apostrophe in 2008, was originally formed in Georgia in 1976. The original lineup consisted of Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson, Cindy Wilson, Keith Strickland and the late Ricky Wilson. The Grammy-nominated band is best known for the songs Love Shack and (Meet) The Flinstones.

Green Day

The rock band, formed by Billie Joe Armstrong with Mike Dirnt, with Tré Cool joining in 1990, was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015, their first year of eligibility. Green Day has received five Grammys, the first in 1995 for Best Alternative Music Performance for Dookie and the latest in 2011 for American Idiot: The Original Broadway Cast Recording for Best Musical Show Album. The band announced the tour last year which will start its North American leg on July 29.

The Isley Brothers

The Isley Brothers have been praised for having the longest, most influential and most diverse careers in the pantheon of popular music. They are one of the few bands who have charted on the Billboard Hot 100 with new music in six different decades. The band was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992, the Hollywood Rockwalk in 1997 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003. They received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014.

Busta Rhymes

Born Trevor George Smith, Busta Rhymes has been nominated for a Grammy 12 times. He’s best known for having one of the best rap flows exhibited in his songs Gimme Some More, What’s It Gonna Be, Pass the Courvoisier Part 2 and in his feature in Look At Me Now. George Strait

He’s best known for his neotraditional country style, which he pioneered in the 1980s. He won his first Grammy for his 2008 album Troubadour. Strait is also know as the King of Country Music and holds the record for the most number one songs on all charts by any artist in any genre.

The singer has also been nominated for and won the most number of Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards and Country Music Association (CMA) Awards. He also holds the RIAA record of having the most certified platinum albums: 33. In 2013, he was honored as a Legend of Live at the 10th Billboard Touring Awards, the first country artist to receive it.

Keith Urban

He has won 15 ACM, 13 CMA and four Grammy Awards. The Australian country singer debuted in the US in 1991 and won his first Grammy three years later. Urban was a coach on the Australian version of The Voice in its first season in 2011. He returned for the 10th and 11th season. He replaced Steve Tyler on American Idol in 2012 for season 12 and is currently still a judge on the program. He’s married to Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman.

WAR

WAR is a 1969 crossover band blending different genres of music such as funk, rock, soul and Latin. They’re best known for their songs Why Can’t We Be Friends and The Cisco Kid. Their album The World Is a Ghetto the best-selling album of 1973, according to Billboard.

Prince (posthumous)

At one point known as the Love Symbol or TAFKAP (The Artist Formerly Known As Prince), he was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Rhythm and Blues Music Hall of Fame in 2016. In 1985, he won an Academy Award for best original score for Purple Rain. In 2005, he won a Golden Globe Award for best original score for Happy Feet’s The Song of the Heart. Prince has seven Grammy awards including two Hall of Fames for Purple Rain in 2011 and Sign of the Times in 2017.

Misty Copeland

She is the first African-American woman who was promoted to principal dancer in the American Ballet Theater’s 75-year history. In 2000, she joined the ABT’s studio company. A year alter, she became part of the corps de ballet (permanent non-soloists). In 2017, she became a soloist.

Alan Cumming

Best known for his roles in 1997’s Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion and as Nightcrawler in 2003’s X2, Cumming currently hosts Peacock’s hit reality series, The Traitors. He won a Laurence Olivier Award in 1991 for Best Comedy Performance in the Accidental Death of an Anarchist. Seven years later, he won a Tony for best actor in a musical for Cabaret and another in 2022 for A Strange Loop as best musical.

Adam Carolla

He’s best known for hosting the call-in radio show Loveline from 1995 to 2005 and its MTV show from 1996 to 2000. He currently holds the Guinness World Record for the most downloaded podcast, The Adam Carolla Show.

David Beckham

The legendary footballer is currently the president and co-owner of Inter Miami CF and co-owner of Salford City. Beckham primarily played as right winger and won 19 major trophies. He’s also the first English player to win league titles in four different countries: his native England, France, Spain and the US.

Orel Hershiser

Hershiser is currently an LA Dodger broadcast color analyst. He played 18 seasons of Major League Baseball from 1983 to 2000 and served as a pitching coach for the Texas Rangers from 2002 to 2005.

The dates for the honorees’ respective star ceremonies have not been set. The recipients have two years to schedule their ceremonies from the date they were selected before they expire. The star ceremonies are typically announced 10 days before the dedication on the official Hollywood Walk of Fame website, www.walkofffame.com.
