The Major League Baseball All-Star Weekend is in full swing and Denver is in a frenzy because of the event. While the police are doing their best to keep everything in order, they are tasked with the security of something far more valuable entering the city, a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card encased in a PSA 10 slab.

Early last weekend, Denver’s finest provided 15 of their motorcycle-riding police officers to escort an armored vehicle carrying one of the most sought-after cards in the whole world. Their destination is the Hall of Legends at the Rally Hotel, where the card will be displayed as part of the baseball memorabilia leading up to the MLB All-Star Game.

Other notable items that will be displayed at the same exhibit are Joe DiMaggio’s jersey when he played his final game in the 1951 World Series and a program from Jackie Robinson’s MLB debut in 1947.

The monster Mickey Mantle card is a modern masterpiece that has been owned by Marshall Fogel, an attorney based in Denver, since 1996. The slab itself is normally kept in a bank vault but it will be taken out for this special event. Rightfully so, because the card’s value is estimated at around $10 million right now. Moreover, it’s only one of three copies known in existence with a perfect PSA 10 grade.

Earlier this year, a PSA 9 copy of the same Mickey Mantle card sold for $5.2 million. It is considered one of the highest-selling cards in recent memory.

With a PSA 9 going for that much, it’s just right that the PSA 10 copy gets a lot of protection from the authorities. With fans flocking to Denver for the All-Star Weekend, you’ll never know what can happen to this modern treasure.Â
