The Portland Trail Blazers are on the road to take on the Indiana Pacers Monday night! This game will continue our NBA odds series as we hand out a Trail Blazers-Pacers prediction and pick. We will also let you know how to watch the game.

The Trail Blazers are coming off a loss at the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday. It was a little bit of a heart breaker as they held a pretty good lead for part of the game. However, they did only score 102 points. This will be the first matchup between the two teams this season. For Portland, Jerami Grant is scoring over 22.0 points per game to lead the team. DeAndre Ayton is averaging a double-double while Malcolm Brogdon is collecting 6.3 assists per game.

The Pacers are 9-6 this season, and they are coming off a win against the Detroit Pistons. Indiana can score the basketball, and they are led by Tyrese Haliburton. Haliburton puts up 25.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 12.1 assists per game this season. Myles Turner is having a pretty good season as he averages 17.2 points per game. The Pacers have six other players that average in the double-digits. As a team, the Pacers score a league-best 128.8 points per game.

Why The Trail Blazers Could Cover The Spread

The Pacers can score against anybody they play, but they do give up points, as well. That is why they have six losses. The Pacers allow 125.5 points per game, and that is the most in the NBA. Teams shoot 50 percent from the field, and 39.1 percent from deep against the Pacers. Indiana wants to push the pace, and they do not necessarily care for defense. Portland needs to take advantage of this. If the Trail Blazers can knock down their shots, they should be able to hang with the Pacers, and cover the spread.

Why The Pacers Could Cover The Spread

As mentioned, the Pacers do not defend well, but they score better than anybody in the NBA. With Haliburton leading the charge, the Pacers are able to put up 128 points per game. The pacers have nine wins on the season, and in every single win, the Pacers have scored over 120 points. That seems to be what they have to do in order to win the game. If Haliburton and the rest of the lineup can have a good game, the Pacers will cover the spread.

Final Trail Blazers-Pacers Prediction & Pick

The spread in this game is pretty large. The Pacers are definitely capable of covering the spread, but they are just 9-6 against the spread this season. However, the Pacers have hit the over in 14 of their 15 games this sseason. I would expect the over to hit in this game. As for the winner I have to take the Pacers. I know the spread is large, but the Blazers are not a very good team right now. For that reason, I am going to take the Pacers to cover the spread. I expect Indiana to score around 130 points in this game, and cover the spread.

Final Trail Blazers-Pacers Prediction & Pick: Pacers -13 (-106), Over 239 (-112)
