Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge doesn't think what happened between Marcus Morris and Jaylen Brown on the bench on Thursday is a big deal.

During a timeout in Miami, Morris and Brown had a minor dust up and had to be separated by teammates. The Celtics lost to the Heat by a final score of 115-99.

Ainge is downplaying the incident, though, saying this type of stuff happens all the time during an NBA season.

“I honestly didn’t think anything of it,” Ainge told Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald. “I like Marcus’ and Jaylen’s character and personalities and feistiness, and, like, I just think nothing of something like this.

“It’s something where those things happen to best friends even. Heck, I remember those things happening to (Rajon) Rondo and Perk (Kendrick Perkins). You know, they’re best buddies, but it’s just the heat of the battle, and I didn’t have a second thought about it.”

Thursday's loss to the Heat snapped the Celtics' four-game winning streak. Boston is now 25-16 on the season, good for fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Both Morris and Brown are fierce competitors and Boston was getting blown out in South Beach pretty much all night on Thursday. Like Ainge says, it's good when players are upset when the team is losing because it shows they care. It would have been a worse looks if players on the club weren't frustrated while the team was getting smacked.
