Celtics’ Gordon Hayward reacts to early noon-time tip vs. Lakers with hilarious quip

The Boston Celtics will have an early 12:30 pm tip-off against their arch-rivals Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night and Gordon Hayward absolutely loves it. The Celtics swing man’s plans are already ready for the morning. He added that this is the cause of being a dad.

On a Celtics team that has half of its roster 25 years old or below, Hayward is among the elder statesmen on the team. In fact, Hayward, who will turn 30 next March, is already the second oldest behind point guard Brad Wanamaker.

Sunday night will be Los Angeles and Boston’s second and final meeting of the regular season. Their first meeting saw the home team Celtics blow out the visiting Lakers, 139-107.

The Celtics got a balanced contribution from their Big 4 on that evening. Third-year star Jayson Tatum led the team with 27 points, while All-Star point guard Kemba Walker and Jaylen Brown both scored 20 apiece. Hayward, meanwhile, contributed 16 markers in the 32-point blowout victory.

Despite the lopsided outcome in their first meeting, this upcoming match-up should still be a blockbuster between these two historic franchises. The Lakers and Celtics have a very storied rivalry, dating back from the 1960’s all the way up to their epic Finals showdowns in 2008 and 2010.

Kemba Walker, however, is questionable for Sunday night’s contest. He is currently dealing with an ailing knee, but is working hard to make himself available for Sunday.

And lest we forget, we would like to remind you once again that you would have to tune in a bit earlier than usual if you want to catch this highly anticipated match-up between the Celtics and the Lakers.
