The Boston Celtics are off to a disappointing start to their season. They are now 2-3 in their first five games, and their losses have been… uh, not great, to say the least. They lost a double overtime heartbreaker to the New York Knicks in their first game, then got beat up by the visiting Toronto Raptors. They won the next two… but then suffered yet another home loss to the Washington Wizards.

After the game, Celtics star forward Jayson Tatum gave his honest assessment of the Celtics situation. (via Massachusetts Live)

“I think that with 16, 17 guys on the [Celtics] team, different personalities, I mean everybody I guess even myself included gets emotional or loses their cool at times. But that’s why it’s a team sport and we just have to be there for each other at those times to regroup, regather and get focused.”

Consistency has always been an issue with this Celtics core, and this year doesn't seem to be any different. In their Raptors 30-point home loss, the team actually got booed by their fans. Rookie head coach Ime Udoka said at the time that the Celtics deserved that booing.

It's going to be a rough adjustment period for the Tatum and the Celtics, as they're adjusting to a new coach and some unfamiliar faces. They're looking to reclaim the success they initially experienced with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, but it's not going to be easy. Hopefully, they can figure it out quickly, because they have a lot of potential to be really, REALLY scary in this league.
