After another huge performance for the Boston Celtics on Friday, Kyrie Irving has matched a franchise record that is currently held by the great Larry Bird.

Following his 38-point, 11-assist performance in Friday night's 122-116 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies, Irving is the first Celtic in more than three decades to notch at least 27 points and 11 assists in back-to-back games.

On Wednesday, Irving dropped 27 points and a season-high 18 assists as the Celtics defeated the Toronto Raptors, 117-108, in an Eastern Conference marquee matchup.

It's been back-to-back remarkable performances for Irving after sitting out Monday's matchup against the Brooklyn Nets (the C's lost, 109-102) due to a quad injury.

Irving has been in hot waters recently after calling out his younger teammates for their alleged lack of maturity. Irving later apologized for his outburst, and reportedly even gave former teammate LeBron James a call to apologize about his own lack of maturity during their time together with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

It has been a critical past few days for Irving and his development as a leader for the Celtics, and if anything, he is leading by example on the basketball court.

The Celtics are still in fifth place in the East with a 27-18 record, and will look to build on the momentum of their two-game win streak as they face the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night. We can all fully expect Irving to come out firing in that one.
