Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart has had a stable NBA career so far. He's already been in the NBA for six seasons and he still has a lot of time left to succeed in the league.

The former lottery pick has expressed the desire to spend his entire career with only one team, and that's the Celtics. However, Smart understands that Boston might trade him someday and that teams would always do what's best for them. Still, if he'd be given the chance to choose, he'd like his NBA journey to end where it all started, per Adam Himmelsbach of Boston Globe.

Right now, Smart is just thankful that he's still with the Celtics.

“I’m six years in now, and it feels like yesterday I was drafted. It is funny to see all the faces I’ve seen come through the organization. But it’s a blessing and I’m blessed to be here still, and that’s rare. Usually guys are gone by now. I’m blessed to still be here.”

Although Smart has never been an All-Star, he's had a longer tenure with the Celtics compared to Isaiah Thomas, Kyrie Irving, and Al Horford. He's a vital part of the team's young core, and he's going to play a key role in helping the team succeed this season. He's a hard worker; he gives his 100 percent on a nightly basis, and he isn't afraid or intimidated by anybody. He'll go up against anyone no matter how big, fast, or talented they are.

Because for Smart, what matters is that his team wins, and that mentality of his will remain the same whether he stays in Boston or not.
