No matter the topic, Charles Barkley is never afraid to speak his mind. The 11-time NBA All-Star and TNT talking head most recently voiced his unflinching support for the LGTBQ+ community.

Barkley made the profound, genuine statement at Harveys Lake Tahoe, a casino hotel in Stateline, Nevada. He said that he loves gay and transgender people and that he says “F*ck you!” to those who give them hate.

This message from Charles Barkley is tremendous. There's no excuse for homophobia and transphobia in any form. In a time when both the rights and physical well-being of the LGTBQ+ community are severely under attack, it's refreshing to see a celebrity voice his undying support for the community.

Charles Barkley has defended the LGBTQ community in the past. He came to the defense of former NBA player Jason Collins when he announced that he was gay and vehemently opposed the North Carolina law that forbade transgender people from using the bathroom that aligned with their gender identity.

Some athletes have tried to denounce the LGBTQ community through hateful acts, such as the Tampa Bay Rays pitchers who decide to remove LGBTQ-pride patches from their uniforms. The legendary NBA power forward is proud not to be one of them.

Even though Charles Barkley often says things that are more controversial, this brief speech by him is something that all rational people can agree with.
