Miami Heat forward Kevin Love got involved in an ugly on-court incident on Sunday that left him bloodied and in need of stitches. Fortunately, he was fine after some treatment.

Late in the third quarter of the game against the Detroit Pistons, Love attacked the basket and pulled off a pump fake to bait Jalen Duren to jump under the rim. The Heat forward was able to get the foul, though he missed his shot. However, it came with a price as Love was hit in the head during his contact with the Pistons big man, leaving the left side of his head covered with blood.

According to the Heat, Kevin Love needed four stitches to stop the bleeding and address the wound. The Heat eventually noted that he's fine and available to return to the game, though he sat out the rest of the fourth quarter as Miami pulled away with a 112-100 win.

Love finished with 12 points, eight rebounds and two dimes as a starter for Miami. Jimmy Butler led the way for the Heat with 26 points, four rebounds, 10 assists and one steal, while Bam Adebayo had 22 points, 10 boards, five dimes and three blocked shots.

With the win, Miami improved to 39-34 on the season, just a game behind the sixth-seeded Brooklyn Nets.

Here's to hoping that Love is doing just fine after that rather scary accident he had. Lucky for him, the Heat have two days off before returning to action, so he can definitely rest and heal his wound.
