The Wisconsin Badgers have lived a charmed life in 2021-22, winning just about every single close game in a season full of them. It was only fitting that the No. 10 Badgers would clinch at least a share of the Big Ten title by winning yet another nail-biter.
Wisconsin hosted the No. 8 Purdue Boilermakers on Tuesday night, and the game came down to the wire. After Purdue star Jaden Ivey made it 65-64 Badgers with just under a minute to play, Wisconsin star Johnny Davis banked in a jumper to make it 67-64. That set up this absolutely bonkers sequence starring a game-tying Ivey 3-pointer and then yet another bank shot, this time from Chucky Hepburn FTW:

Badgers fans stormed the court after their title-clinching win, and Davis had an epic reaction to how things played out:
Johnny Davis on Chucky Hepburn's winner: "I'm not going to lie. That was some bullshit, but it went in."

At least he admits it!

With this victory, Wisconsin moved to 24-5 on the season and 15-4 in Big Ten play. Out of those 24 wins, 15 of those have come by six points or fewer. The Badgers have only lost one such game. While this is obviously a very good team that could earn a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, it also doesn't hurt to have a little luck on your side.
Hepburn's miracle triple capped off a strong game for him in which he finished with 17 points and went 4-of-6 from downtown. Davis, a top Big Ten Player of the Year candidate, chipped in 16 points. Tyler Wahl led Wisconsin with 19 points.
It was a terrific team effort for the Badgers, who beat Purdue in both matchups this season. Wisconsin now just must beat the lowly Nebraska Cornhuskers to secure an outright Big Ten championship. If the Badgers are upset, the Illinois Fighting Illini can earn a share of the title by winning their final two conference games.
