It may come as a surprise to many people, but this year's Super Bowl did not involve any of the five highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL.

Each respective team disappointed this season, and unfortunately, Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a season-ending injury in which tore his ACL. The Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons, and Minnesota Vikings have been frequent visitors in the playoffs in recent seasons, but each team came up short. The Detroit Lions unfortunately never seemed to have much of a chance and could not gain any kind of traction throughout the season despite defeating the New England Patriots in 2018.

This year's Super Bowl consisted of the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots, and it's shocking quarterback Tom Brady does not make top-five money. Brady signed a two-year $41 million contract in 2016 and Rams quarterback Jared Goff is still under his rookie contract from 2016.

Despite the money differentials, last season's Super Bowl consisted of the Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles in which Nick Foles was the Eagles quarterback. Perhaps the fact that the top five quarterbacks are on non-playoff teams, it could mean money could be distributed elsewhere for a more balanced roster. The Packers, Falcons, Lions, and 49ers all have fantastic offensive units but lack tremendously in terms of defense whereas the Vikings were working out the kinks with newly acquired quarterback Kirk Cousins.

It seems the more well-balanced rosters are the teams with the better odds of making the Super Bowl right now as the Kansas City Chiefs and New Orleans Saints were also on the cusp of a Super Bowl appearance.
