Jack Eichel and the Buffalo Sabres seem to remain in a deadlock in terms of a potential trade that would send the embattled star center away from the only team he’s played so far in his NHL career. While nothing has yet to firmly develop on that front, Eichel has reportedly made a switch in representation, putting him under the same agent umbrella with  John Tavares and Sidney Crosby. According to Elliott Friedman of Sportsnet, Eichel has moved on from Peter Fish and Peter Donatelli of Global Hockey Consultants and will now be calling Pat Brisson of Creative Artists Agency as his agent.

Elliott and the Sabres continue to disagree on the best method to use in addressing the neck injury that has forced him out of action since March. Back in May, Eichel spoke to the media and expressed his disappointment with the issue, and revealed that the two sides were having a hard time seeing each other eye to eye.

Via Adam Gretz of NBC Sports:

“I’d be lying to say that things have moved smoothly since my injury,” said Eichel on Monday. “There’s been a bit of a disconnect between myself and the organization. It’s been tough at times. The most important thing now is to try to get healthy, figure out a way to be available to play hockey next year, wherever that might be.”

Eichel’s move to change agents could be a play that could move the needle towards a way out of Buffalo, though he is still under the control of the Sabres. Eichel’s current contract that has a $10 million AAV runs up to the end of the 2025-26 NHL season.
