The Arkansas basketball team lost their head coach after the conclusion of this past season as Eric Musselman left the Razorbacks to be the next head coach of USC basketball. In today's era of college basketball, a coaching change means that there is going to be some transfer portal departures. One Arkansas player that entered the transfer portal is forward Trevon Brazile. Brazile is reportedly involved with St. John's basketball, Memphis basketball, Nebraska basketball and others.

“NEWS: Memphis is involved with Arkansas transfer 6’10” F Trevon Brazile, per multiple sources,” Hitmen Hoops said in a tweet. “Nebraska, St John’s and others are involved. Was also told he’s setting up a visit to St John’s with Nebraska having the highest bid currently. Brazile averaged 8.6 PTS 5.9 REB and 1.2 BLK on 35% 3PT in 25.7 minutes per game last season.”

Trevon Brazile would be a big get for any of these teams. St. John's basketball has picked up some good talent in the transfer portal and they are hoping to make a run to the NCAA Tournament in Rick Pitino's second season. The Red Storm had a solid squad last year in the talented Big East, but they were unable to make it to the big dance.

Memphis basketball has a big season ahead of them as well. The Tigers got off to a hot start last year and they were ranked #10 at one point in the season. However, a cold stretch in January hurt Memphis bad, and they ended up missing the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers are hoping to get back to the big dance next season.

Nebraska basketball was the only team out of these three to make it to the tournament last season. The Cornhuskers typically aren't one of the better teams in the Big Ten, but they had a great season last year, and they want to keep that momentum going next year. Landing a guy like Trevon Brazile in the transfer portal would be massive.

Trevon Brazile has a lot of potential

Trevon Brazile has been playing college basketball for three seasons now, and this is not his first experience with the transfer portal. Brazile started his career with Missouri, and he had a solid freshman season. He averaged over 20 minutes per game with the Tigers in year one, and he averaged 6.6 PPG.

After that first season with Missouri, Brazile decided that it was time to switch schools. He stayed in the SEC and transferred to Arkansas basketball.

Brazile had a big first season with the Razorbacks as he averaged over 27 minutes per game and he finished the season averaging over 11 PPG. His numbers did drop off last season as he only averaged 8.6 PPG, but he was still a solid contributor for that Arkansas team.

With another offseason under his belt, Trevon Brazile should be ready for a big season. He should be deciding his new home soon, and it looks like St. John's basketball, Memphis and Nebraska all have a decent shot at landing him. We'll see what he decides to do, but Brazile should be a fun player to watch next year. He did test out the NBA Draft waters this offseason, but he decided that coming back to college would be the best decision for him.
