Oklahoma City Thunder guard Alex Abrines has been out due to personal reasons, and head coach Billy Donovan says there is still no timetable for his return, according to Maddie Lee of The Oklahoman.
Abrines has been sidelined since Christmas, and no one knows if it's due to an unspecified injury or something else.
Still, Abrines is with the Thunder for their game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday afternoon and was working out with dumbbells and a medicine ball pregame.
On the year, Abrines has played in 29 games and is averaging 5.6 points over 19.8 minutes per game while shooting just 35.9 percent from the floor, 32.3 percent from three-point range and 92.3 percent from the free-throw line.
The 25-year-old's value to Oklahoma City is mainly in his three-point shooting, so the fact that he is shooting such a poor percentage from downtown this season is a concern.
Abrines came over to the NBA from Spain in July 2016, signing with OKC.
He ended up playing in 67 games during his rookie campaign, averaging six points across 15,5 minutes per game while making 39.3 percent of his field-goal attempts, 38.1 percent of his long-distance tries and 89.8 percent of his foul shots.
Then, last season, Abrines took the floor 75 times and registered 4.7 points through 15.1 minute a night, connecting on 39.5 percent of his shots, 38 percent of his triples and 84.8 percent of his free throws.
The Thunder will enter their game against the 76ers with a record of 26-18. They have lost five of their last six games, most recently falling to the Los Angeles Lakers in overtime on Thursday.
