The Boston Celtics finished off the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night to win the NBA Finals. The Celtics were by far the best team in the NBA all year long, and they cruised through the playoffs as they won 16 games and lost just three. Boston obviously had a lot of players step up in the postseason, and one of those players was Jrue Holiday. Holiday is a UCLA basketball alum, and the NBA Finals win continued an impressive streak for the Bruins.
Jrue Holiday has now won two NBA Finals, and the UCLA basketball team has now had a former player earn a ring in eight of the past nine seasons. That is a pretty ridiculous stat.

UCLA is one of the premier college basketball programs in the country, and they have produced a lot of NBA greats. The Bruins have had the most historic run in college basketball history as they won a whopping seven straight national titles from 1967-1973, and that was also part of the same stretch that earned them 10 national championships in 12 years. No other school has come even close to a stretch like that. Pure dominance.
Not only has UCLA dominated the college basketball landscape, but they also set their players up for the success in the NBA. The numbers speak for themself. Jrue Holiday is now the seventh former Bruins player to win multiple NBA championships.
โJrue Holiday became one of 7 former @UCLA players to have won at least 2 titles, leading the Boston @celtics to the 2024 NBA championship on Monday night,โ UCLA basketball said in a tweet.
There are a lot of former UCLA players that have gone on to excel in the league, and Jrue Holiday is one of them.
Jrue Holiday had a great season
Jrue Holiday has made his former college basketball team proud with his accomplishments from this season. He won an NBA Championship, and he was also a key member of the team. Holiday finished the season averaging over 12 PPG, and he also averaged 5.4 RPG and 4.8 APG. He shot over 42% from deep on the season as well. Holiday found a way to impact the game in multiple ways, and he was an important part of this championship run.
Holiday stepped up big time in the NBA Finals, specifically in game two. He scored in double figures in four out of five games, but game two was massive for him as he finished with 26 points. Holiday came to play throughout the postseason.
Now, Holiday and the Celtics are NBA champions, and their mission is complete. This team has had a fair amount of shortcomings in recent playoffs, but they weren't going to let that happen this season. They dominated their way through the regular season, and they did the same thing when the playoffs rolled around. It was an impressive year, the UCLA basketball team is proud of Jrue Holiday for playing a big role in the championship.
