Several games have already been called off due to the lack of players available. The NBA has employed strict safety protocols and only allows teams to play if they have eight healthy players on the roster.</p><p>Each lineup consists of as many as 15 guys. But Morant clearly wants the number to move up so all teams have more available bodies at their disposal. NBA veteran and current free agent Jamal Crawford recently aired the same sentiments in the wake of the successive postponements.</p><p>NBA commissioner Adam Silver has already made it clear that they are working on improving the league’s current COVID-19 protocols. It remains unclear though if adding more roster spots as Morant suggested will be up for consideration.</p><p>If the NBA does push through with it, there won’t be any shortage of quality talents available. Guys like Crawford, Isaiah Thomas, Michael Beasley, Iman Shumpert, and Lance Stephenson among many others are still without a team.</p><p>Ja Morant, on the other hand, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/grizzlies-news-ja-morant-gets-positive-upgrade-for-status-vs-timberwolves-after-2-weeks/">has been out since December</a> after suffering an ankle sprain against the Brooklyn Nets. Ja Morant dropped 44 points and nine assists in the opener against the San Antonio Spurs, and followed that up with 28 points and seven assists on Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks.</p><p>In his dazzling rookie season, the explosive point guard averaged 17.8 points and 7.3 assists per game in 67 starts. Ja Morant had arrived.</p><p>The young Grizzlies have admirably held their own without Ja Morant (and Jaren Jackson Jr.). Head coach Taylor Jenkins’ team is currently ranked ninth in points per game allowed and fourth in defensive rating.</p><p>However, Memphis clearly needs Ja Morant’s scoring and playmaking, as the team is ranked bottom-five in points per game and offensive rating.</p><p>As it stands, the Grizzlies are 5-6, with their last victory coming against the Timberwolves, 118-107, at the Target Center on Wednesday. The loss dropped Minnesota to 3-8. Center Jonas Valanciunas led the way for Memphis with 24 points and 16 rebounds, while Grayson Allen added 20 points off the bench.</p><p>In Morant’s absence, Dillon Brooks has largely served as the team’s No. 1 option on offense. The two-time All-Star, however, went cold in the fourth and fell short of the record after just putting up three points in the final period.</p><p>The Wizards ultimately lost the game, 136-141, with Beal going 20-for-34 from the field and 7-of-9 from downtown.</p><p>Even Portland Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum was all praises for Beal after going on that ridiculous scoring binge. However, he wasn’t as sold that he’ll reach 70 points when the match is over. So when Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/warriors-news-stephen-curry-breaks-career-high-in-revenge-game-vs-blazers/">showcased his utter greatness on the basketball court</a> on Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers, everyone had to take a moment and acknowledge Curry’s talents.</p><p>After Curry’s career-night where he dropped 62 points with eight threes to torch Damian Lillard and the Blazers, the youngins had to tip their hat to the two-time MVP.</p><p>Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks retweeted a <a href="https://twitter.com/SportsCenter/status/1345938876465094656">tweet</a> from SportsCenter where they showed Curry going absolute bonkers and went all super saiyan mode on Sunday. After the Warriors big win, Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies narrated how the best players in the league rise to the occasion. He also converted 18/19 from the charity stripe and added five rebounds and four assists.</p><p>With Curry going on God Mode, he didn’t really need much from the rest of his team.
