Three years ago, AEW was a very different place. They weren't yet on television, the promotion was Pay-Per-View only, and many of their biggest stars, from CM Punk to FTR, Thunder Rosa, Jade Cargill, and even Wardlow, weren't yet on the roster.

And yet, when one looks back at that weird, weird time in the promotion's history, when the EVPs were largely running the booking and Tony Khan was attempting to establish the fledgling promotion as a serious competitor to the WWE, there were some hidden gems to look back on fondly both prolific, like Cody Rhodes versus Dustin Rhodes, and not so much.

One of the matches that falls into the latter category just so happens to be one of the favorites of one of the company's three remaining EVPs, Kenny Omega, who reminisced on the bout via his Twitter account.

Taking place at the original Fight for the Fallen, Omega took on CIMA of the Chinese trio #Stronghearts in a fun, hard-hitting bout live from eventual AEW home base Daily's Place in the penultimate match of the promotion's third overall Pay-Per-View, going ON right before the team of Cody and Dustin Rhodes wrestled against The Young Bucks.
Now granted, the match was more of a showcase for Omega than a way to elevate CIMA or #Stronghearts, as the trio never became fan favorites, let alone fixtures of AEW Dynamite, but still with the trio now back in Japan wrestling for GLEAT, the 44-year-old can at least hang his hat on having a 4.5-star match against one of the best performers who ever did it, at least according to The Wrestling Observers' Dave Meltzer.
