The Buffalo Bills took their first lead on the Dallas Cowboys using a trick play. For the first time in franchise history, a wide receiver (John Brown) was on the throwing end of a touchdown pass.

The recipient of the throw was David Singletary after leaking out to the sideline and managing to pull down what was seemingly a perfect pass. The sequence was all set up by a handoff delivery from Josh Allen to a tight end, then a pitch to Brown and ultimately leading to the touchdown strike.

Since the Bills ended up missing the extra point, they took a 13-7 lead as a result of this touchdown. This scoring drive came at an opportune time considering how Buffalo previously missed a field goal attempt and it enabled them to head into halftime in front.
