Jodie Meeks turned a lot of heads during the last few seconds of regulation in the game between the Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics on Wednesday. With his team trailing by three points with 5.5 seconds left, he found himself wide open for a 3-pointer that eventually sent the game to overtime.

Before he received the ball, though, Otto Porter Jr. was responsible for setting him up, as he gave up a wide-open layup for the veteran shooting guard. Celtics head coach Brad Stevens discussed that play after the game and admitted that he is familiar with it, calling a similar set before for Marcus Smart.

He also added, via Jared Weiss of The Celtics Wire, that they should've just given up the layup, instead of giving Meeks the corner 3-pointer.

However, if one looks at the play, it's obvious that Porter already had the lane all to himself for an easy layup, which is likely by design. But Morris' defensive lapse in failing to cover Meeks at the corner proved costly.

As it turned out, the game even went to a second five-minute extension, as Jayson Tatum missed a free throw, which would've given the Celtics a one-point lead in the last few seconds of the first overtime. The home team ultimately lost, 125-124, with Bradley Beal leading the Wizards' charge with 34 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists. Markieff Morris chipped in 20 points, seven rebounds, and four assists of his own.

For what it's worth, the Celtics were playing extremely shorthanded, as Kyrie Irving, Al Horford, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, and Daniel Theis all did not suit up on the night. The good news is that they are still in second place in the Eastern Conference, and are slated to have some of their key players back soon.
