The 2022 NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors are all tied up. Each team has one win coming out of San Francisco and heading into Game 3 in Boston Wednesday night. Ahead of the tie-breaker, Jayson Tatum discussed what the Celtics need to focus on to go up 2-1 in the series.

The Athletic's Jared Weiss tweeted Tatum's Captain Obvious quote from the Celtics' Tuesday media availability.

“When we don't turn the ball over, we give ourselves a better chance to win,” he said, putting the biggest obstacle in their way quite simply.

Tatum is right, the concept is “not rocket science.” However, at this point in the postseason, players often lose touch with such routine fundamentals.

In the Celtics' Game 1 win, they recorded 12 turnovers, while the Warriors gave up the ball 14 times. Meanwhile, in the Warriors' Game 2 win, the Celtics had 18 turnovers and Golden State had 12. Unsurprisingly, the number of turnovers correlated to the results of both games.

The entire Celtics starting five has been subject to turnovers the past two games, and Tatum is no exception. He had two in Game 1 and four in Game 2, only second to Marcus Smart, who had five in the loss.

The Celtics, led by Tatum, will attempt to secure the series lead with a Game 3 win in Boston.
