Marcus Morris is tearing it up for the Boston Celtics this season and his new perspective on life could be a huge reason for that. The Boston big man recently welcomed a child into the world and he credits his son with changing his approach to life for the better.

“In general, just the way I approach life. The way I wake up every morning,” he told Marc D'Amico of NBA.com. “The happiness, the blessing that I feel having him, being able to see him every day … He’s just been special to me.”

Is Marcus Morris Jr. an early-season candidate for Celtics MVP? Morris Sr. is playing the best basketball of his career following the birth of his first child. He's averaging career highs in points and rebounds while shooting over 50 percent from beyond the arc.

Morris has been an absolute rock for the Celtics off the bench and he is doing it all. He's scoring, rebounding, defending, and hitting clutch shots late in games. It's far too early in the season to start speculating about the end of season awards, but Morris is certainly playing like a Sixth Man of the Year early on this season.

The Celtics are clearly one of the more dangerous teams in the East and perhaps they could even threaten the Golden State Warriors in an NBA Finals matchup. If that is going to happen, Morris' energetic and efficient play off the bench will be a huge reason why.
