The NFL is in full swing as is the college football season. The NBA regular season is set to tip off and the NHL just started up. Now, it's time for college basketball to return.

With the regular season starting in November, the first AP Top 25 poll was released on Monday for the college basketball season.

As noted, Gonzaga tops the rankings which should be a surprise to nobody. Mark Few's Bulldogs were undefeated all the way up until the National Championship last year when they eventually fell to the Baylor Bears.

Speaking of Baylor, they come in at No. 8 in the first college basketball poll. After losing multiple key pieces including Davion Mitchell off that championship team, the Bears will look to fill in those gaps with some fresh faces this year.

Duke and Kentucky will open the regular season against one another on November 9th in Madison Square Garden and they both round out the top 10 at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively. Both teams are coming off extremely disappointing seasons in which neither made the dance in March. Adding in the spice that this will be Mike Krzyzewski's final year at Duke and that game will be quite the spectacle to open up the college basketball season.

UCLA returns its entire core from the team that made a Final Four run a year ago and they come in right behind Gonzaga at No. 2.

College basketball season is right around the corner and the AP Top 25 poll being released is just another sign that we are closer to the opening tipoffs.
