It's going to be interesting to see what type of reception Kristaps Porzingis gets at Madison Square Garden. Knicks fans loved KP, but his trade request might have changed things.
Porzingis missed all of last season recovering from his ACL tear. The Mavs can't wait to see Porzingis take the floor with 2019 Rookie of the Year Luka Doncic. Dallas envisions Porzingis and Doncic being a lethal dynamic duo for the next decade.
Porzingis has career averages of 17.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 186 NBA games while shooting 43.7 percent from the field, 36.1 percent from beyond the arc and 80.4 percent from the free-throw line. The Mavs gave KP a five-year, $158.25 million deal this summer.
Dallas is going to monitor Porzingis' workload all season. You might see the Mavs sit KP on back-to-backs, at least to begin the season. Porzingis is only 24-years-old. His long-term health is the most important thing to owner Mark Cuban and head coach Rick Carlisle.
