One of the best stories this season is how the Miami Heat have turned around their fortunes after a disastrous start to the campaign. The South Beach team were 29 games below .500 and appeared like they were going to remain at the bottom of the standings. However, things took a dramatic turn when they had an improbable 13-game winning streak, which marked the start of their epic run.

Asked what his mindset was to make it possible to comeback from an 11-30 hole, Erik Spoelstra shared what his strategy was and gave a simple, yet very good explanation.

Since January 19, the Heat have won 29 of their last 40 games and still have a chance to make it to the playoffs heading to the last day of the regular season. Their core players have shown a lot of grit and have played unselfish basketball to reach this point. More importantly, they have proven that the culture the organization has in place can translate to wins on the court, despite not having a legitimate star in their lineup.

A lot of credit should also be given to Spoelstra for the outstanding job he's done with his team this year. He has gained the respect of his players and the Heat wouldn't be where they are right now without him calling the plays from the sidelines. Even if they don't make it to the playoffs, they will still have a lot of positive takeaways from this campaign, which they can build on next season, and help them become perennial contenders in the Eastern Conference once again.
