It's not quite March yet, but Saturday was full of madness in college basketball. The No. 1 Gonzaga Bulldogs' 67-57 loss on the road to No. 23 Saint Mary's capped off a stunning day of upsets across the country, with a record seven top-10 teams losing. It was also the first time the top six all lost on the same day.

All seven of the losses came on the road, with Gonzaga (1), Arizona (2), Auburn (3), Purdue (4), Kansas (5), Kentucky (6) and Texas Tech (9) all going down. Gonzaga head coach Mark Few had a very simple explanation for how this happened, via ESPN's Myron Medcalf:

“It's kind of life in late February and early March, especially on the road,” Gonzaga coach Mark Few said.

Saturday's action brought a mix of ugly defeats and down-to-the-wire games. Gonzaga was awful against Saint Mary's, scoring only 21 points in the first half to go down by 15 at the break. The Bulldogs cut the deficit to six points in the second half but never got closer as All-American Drew Timme struggled all night to the tune of six points on 2-of-10 shooting.

In addition to Gonzaga losing by double digits, No. 2 Arizona suffered a 79-63 pounding at the hands of unranked Colorado, marking the worst defeat by a No. 2 team against an unranked opponent since 2018. No. 3 Auburn blew an 11-point second-half lead against Tennessee and then couldn't complete a late comeback. No. 4 Purdue lost to Michigan State on a Tyson Walker dagger in the final seconds. No. 5 Kansas got torched by 10th-ranked Baylor in the second half to lose by 10 points. No. 6 Kentucky lost a 75-73 heartbreaker to No. 18 Arkansas. No. 9 Texas Tech fell apart in the second half against TCU, blowing an 11-point second-half lead and faltering in the final minute.

This wild day of action shook up the bracket projections as Selection Sunday nears. While Gonzaga is safely still a top seed in these projections, there was movement elsewhere after Saturday's madness.
