Even though the Memphis Grizzlies took yet another loss on Monday night to the New Orleans Pelicans, their fans received some uplifting news. Point guard Mike Conley is now the franchise leader in 20-point, 10-assist games.

The 31-year-old had a solid game, scoring 22 points and recording 10 assists to pass Mike Bibby for the record. He has spent all 12 of his NBA seasons with the Grizzlies and has been one of the franchise's best players. This year, he is posting an excellent stat line, averaging 20.2 points, 6.1 assists, and 1.3 steals, starting all 38 games he has played in.

Although Conley has consistently been an above average producer, some Grizzlies fans feel like he has never gotten the recognition he deserves. The guard has never made an All-Star appearance, even though he has been named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team once and has won the NBA Sportsmanship Award twice.

Unfortunately for Conley, he plays in an era that boasts some of the best guard play the league has ever seen. Competing with Steph Curry, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden, among many others, means that it's almost impossible for the veteran to nab a spot on an All-Star team.

Regardless of who recognizes him, Grizzlies fans know that Conley can hang with the best of them. However, this could be his last season with the team, as trade rumors have abounded due to the Memphis' low chance of making the playoffs. Wherever he ends up, Conley will continue to be a consistent player and effective guard.
