Miami Heat newcomer Jimmy Butler is not one to dwell on the past. As a matter of fact, Miami's new cornerstone superstar recently admitted that he does not even have the time to think about what could have been had he stayed with his former team, the Philadelphia 76ers:

“To tell you the truth, I don’t even think about it. I’m here,” Butler said, via Shandel Richardson of The Athletic. “I’m locked in on that. I do get that question a lot and I tell everybody the same answer: We don’t know what could have been, we don’t. So I leave it at that. I’m a player for the Miami Heat, so that’s what I’m locked in on.”

Butler went to the Heat this summer in a sign-and-trade deal that sent Josh Richardson to Philadelphia. Butler is currently on a massive four-year, $140.7 million deal, and is very much eager to prove his worth to his new team.

It now seems a distant memory when Butler forced his move away from the Minnesota Timberwolves in the middle of last season to join the Sixers. As it turns out, Butler's time in The City of Brotherly Love would be short-lived, as he has now found a new home in South Beach.

The torch has been passed to Butler in Miami, as the future of the franchise now rests in his capable hands. He should be in store for a remarkable first season with the Heat now that he has once again become the lone superstar for his new team.
