The Miami Heat have continuously received a lot of praise from a lot of members of the basketball community for being a world-class organization. They have been known for their culture of bringing out the best from all of their players, which has helped them become more successful in their careers. Now that a huge part of the state of Florida is recovering from the damage left by Hurricane Irma, the NBA franchise is doing its part to help the victims.
Even team president Pat Riley has joined the recovery efforts, as it was recently reported by Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press, that he personally delivered supplies to different areas in the Sunshine State. He also acknowledged all the work being done by volunteers to try and make the lives of the victims better.
Pat Riley quietly spent big $$$ on Irma relief. Personally delivered supplies/food to El Portal, Miami Shores, Overtown and Little Haiti.

Riles also met with Irma relief workers, thanking them for what they did. Also worth noting: this was no press event. He wanted it quiet.

The Godfather is definitely proving that he is a class act with his gesture. He also deserves a lot of credit for not wanting the spotlight on him, as his actions are not meant to be a publicity stunt in order to generate positive news for him or the Heat.
The state may have been severely damaged, but if there's any good news that resulted after the hurricane hit, it has united a lot of people around the world, and their generosity has been evident with the amount of donations that are being sent.
