New York Knicks head coach Jeff Hornacek has seen the sharp decline in his team's offense, and he's not happy about it.

Over the last 15 games, the Knicks rank 27th in offensive efficiency, per Ian Begley of ESPN. There are 30 teams in the NBA. It's safe to say third from the bottom is not good.

Hornacek's comments are quite common of young teams that struggle to find an identity. He cites trouble moving the ball side to side, and general issues with ball movement.

The Knicks run a lot of offense though Kristaps Porzingis, the team's best players. They have other solid players such as Enes Kanter, Frank Ntilikina and Michael Beasley.

But the Knicks' offense has turned anemic ever since Tim Hardaway Jr. went out with a leg injury several weeks ago. He's recently made some progress, however, and looks to possibly return during a road trip this month.

The Knicks are currently 19-22 and 10th in the Eastern Conference playoff race. So the team has a lot to play for in the second have of this NBA season.

New York will have to find a way to tread water offensively until Hardaway comes back. Without him, they've been dreadful, and they will need him playing will down the stretch of the year if the want to sneak into the playoffs as the eighth seed.

When a main player goes out that does so much for an offense in terms of flow and ball movement, it can be hard to recover. Something similar happened the Los Angeles Lakers when Lonzo Ball was sidelined with a shoulder injury.

But with Hardaway coming back soon, the Knicks offense should get an uptick in the near future.
