New York Knicks rookie forward Kevin Knox believes that head coach David Fizdale has confidence in his abilities.

Knox emerged for his best performance of his rookie season in the 136-34 overtime victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, which saw the Knicks rally from 14 down for the huge win.

And despite some struggles throughout the season, Knox feels like his coach has helped him throughout the process.

Here's what Knox told Kevin Kernan of the New York Post:

“Fiz is always going to have confidence in me. He just wants me to keep playing hard. He talked to me about that the other day. It shows how much confidence in me to keep me out there the whole game … I’m ready for the next game.”

Knox is currently averaging 8.6 points and 2.8 rebounds while playing 19.1 minutes per game. He's shooting 34.2 percent from the field, 34.4 percent from beyond the arc, and 68.6 percent from the free-throw line.

His 37 minutes against the Bucks were his most played this season, with his previous high coming in a 29-minute outing against the Oklahoma City Thunder in mid-November.

The Knicks still have a long way to go when it comes to being a contender again, but Knox is someone that they will rely on to be a key piece of the rebuilding process.

New York has faced plenty of bumps in the road this season, and there will likely be more to come.

However, Knox's potential emergence is worth watching, especially if he can build off of this type of performance.
