The New York Knicks, along with several other NBA teams in the league, won't have fans to begin the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic still going on. Even though it's an unfortunate situation to be in, RJ Barrett believes it could actually benefit the ‘Bockers.

“Actually having no fans might be an advantage,’’ RJ Barrett said, via Marc Berman of the New York Post. “I know if I was a competitor, coming into the Garden, with all those fans, I’d want to have a great game. So coming in there with no fans actually probably gives us an advantage that way, too.”

Seeing that fans of the Knicks continue to root for a franchise that disappoints year after year, it's apparent that they have faithful fans. However, at the same time, players from other teams love to play at Madison Square Garden, which isn't a positive aspect for New York.

Over the years, the likes of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, etc. have all made an effort to put on a show when playing the Knicks on the road. Having a productive performance in front of the celebrities and fans in New York is something that motivates star players.

Barrett is in his second season with the Knicks and hasn't experienced the full impact of a packed Madison Square Garden. Despite most people believing New York is at a disadvantage with zero fans, Barrett believes the they could benefit from it during the season.
